SPARK is the name of the research and education environment within knowledge intensive product realisation at Jönköping University. Based on industrial needs, SPARK develops new knowledge and competence in collaboration with industrial and academic partners.
Jönköping University’s aim with the ten-year collaboration is to create
a nationally leading and internationally competitive research and education environment within knowledge intensive product realization, based on continuous co-production between the university and partner companies.
The choice of knowledge intensive product realization, as our focus, makes it possible for us to build on already well-developed research and competence at the University. Our definition of this area includes not only product- and production development but also other tasks and activities in the process chain from idea to market.
Based on regional and national needs, SPARK will
through continuous co-production between Jönköping University and partner companies, support the development of increased knowledge content in processes and products and thus contribute to increased global competitiveness for Swedish industry.
The research results and increased competence that comes from SPARK's operations will contribute to added value for both products and processes from Swedish companies. The development of increased knowledge content is crucial for companies in high-cost environments such as Sweden.
Research and education within SPARK is based from the needs from regional- and other Swedish companies. Co-production is therefore at the heart of SPARK.
Many of Jönköping University's research and education areas linked to SPARK have long experience of co-production with external parties. We continue to build on this experience in order to further develop our co-production opportunities and to promote the exchange of knowledge and competence and the application of results.
SPARK is based on a ten-year agreement with the Swedish Knowledge Foundation. This means that we can work strategically with our partners and build long-term and mutually beneficial relationships.
