Jönköping University is one of the leading universities in the country in terms of international exchange and there are good opportunities to study abroad. To spend part of your studies in another country is a valuable experience for the future regardless of your future career.
Jönköping University has approximately 350 exchange agreements with partner universities worldwide. Under the exchange agreement, you, as a student at HJ, study at a partner university during a semester without having to pay any tuition fee. Likewise, HJ accepts students from around the world, who come and study with us. Cooperation with the partner university also includes staff exchanges, research, development of joint courses and deepening knowledge through short intensive courses. Through research, there are additional contacts with universities worldwide. The campus in Jönköping offers an international environment and gives you a chance to have valuable international meetings at home!
Most agreements within Europe are made under the EU's program for student mobility in Higher Education under Erasmus. Some agreement with Scandinavian universities are made within the Nordplus programme. The agreements outside Europe are called bilateral agreements. They are made directly with different universities without being part of an international cooperation program. Some projects run within the Linnaeus Palme collaboration programme.
What places are offered?
The number of places that are available to apply for at each university varies from semester to semester. Exchange agreements will, over time, be "in balance", which means that we need to accept as many students as we send.
