Who should have a JU Card?
If you are a student or a member of staff at Jönköping University with an active user account you should have a JU Card.
I am a distance learner without obligated meetings on campus, do I need a JU Card?
No. The JU Card functions can only be utilized on campus.
How long can I use the card?
You can use the card as long as you actively study at or are a member of the staff at Jönköping University. Keep your card if you take a break in your studies, the card can be re-activated when you come back.
How often do I have to update my JU Card?
All students must update the JU Card each semester after they've registered so that the period of validity on the card is extended.
Do I have to pay for the JU Card?
The JU Card is free of charge to students. If you lose your JU Card, you will be charged a fee of SEK 150. The fee should be paid at the Service Center, where the staff will help you.

If you are having problems identifying yourself at the printers, report the problem to the IT Helpdesk.
What discounts do I get via the JU Card?
With the JU Card you have access to student discounts, travel discounts, among other things. More information about the discounts can be on the Mecenat website (the website is unfortunately not yet available in English).
I don't have a JU Card — can I still get student discounts through Mecenat?
If you're a campus student you are recommended to get a JU Card. More information on how to get your card can be found here. If you are a student in a net based course or studying via a learning centre the Mecenat card will be sent to your registered address. More information you can find here
Rules for the Mecenat Travel-symbol
New! The travel-symbol only available in the Mecenat app!
From autumn 2018 local busses and trains will only accept the travel-symbol on electronic Mecenat cards, that are available in the Mecenat app.
Mecenat will therefore stop printing the travel-symbol on students’ JU-cards. The travel symbols that have been printed on cards so far are now invalid and cannot be used for travel discounts.
The student travel-symbol will no longer be printed on SMS-certificates. The SMS-certificates that are sent will not be valid for travelling with student discount.
