Forskning

Idag förväntar sig kunder att företag inom industrin anpassar produkter till deras individuella behov. Samtidigt pressas priser till nya låga nivåer vilket sätter enorma krav på utvecklare och tillverkare. Det blir viktigare och viktigare att företag i industrin använder verktyg och metoder för att effektivisera sina utvecklingsprocesser samt att nå högre kvalitet på sina produkter. Samuels forskning fokuserar på hur underleverantörer beskriver resultatet av sin teknikutveckling och hur de utvecklade teknikerna ska kunna ”fiskas upp” för att stödja kundanpassning och bygga upp en produktplattform. En utmaning för underleverantörer är att deras system ofta ska integreras i kundens större system och produktplattform. Detta ställer stora krav på den egna produktplattformen. Samuels forskning inriktar sig på datorstöd för att stödja företag i dessa utmaningar.

 

Biografi

Samuels akademiska bana startade på Örebro Universitet med kandidatexamen i maskinteknik. Direkt efter avslutad examen fortsatte Samuel på det internationella masterprogrammet i maskinteknik vid Linköpings Universitet med inriktning mot hydraulik, datorstödd konstruktion och konstruktionsoptimering. Efter examensarbetet, så arbetade Samuel en kort period i industrin med att designa den inre mekaniken i avancerade symaskiner innan han startade sina doktorandstudier.
