The weekend of 13-15 May, the equestrian sports Swedish Championships for Students was arranged in Uppsala. This year, two students from Jönköping University (JU) participated - and it was a success with one team gold and two individual medals.

Jönköping University appoints three honorary doctors
Three new honorary doctors have been appointed by JU’s President Agneta Marell. Professor B.M Golam, Christer Davidsson and Sven-Eric Stenfors will be conferred at the university’s Academic Ceremony on 8 October.

More than 100,000 downloads of new industrial policy book
The research anthology "Questioning the Entrepreneurial State", with Christian Sandström, Assistant Professor at Jönköping International Business School, Jönköping University, as one of two editors, has been downloaded 106,000 times in two weeks. In the anthology, several leading economists warn against the state's industrial and innovation policy – which they claim lacks scientific support and costs billions of tax dollars.

JU students compete in horse-riding championship
Every year, the equestrian sports Swedish Championship for Students is arranged where a Swedish champion in dressage and show-jumping is crowned. Two students from Jönköping University (JU) will participate in this year's event.

On May 5, Jönköping University Enterprise (JUE) held an open house for the first time at Campus Gränna. The day offered sunshine, speeches, mingling, and many activities in the beautiful surroundings where the historic boarding school Grennaskolan used to be housed.

The annual NextStep career fair was held on Thursday, 5 May, at Campus Arena, Jönköping University (JU). 40 companies from Sweden and overseas came to the university to meet JU students and talk about the career opportunities that await them after graduation.

Anders Danielsson is new Chairman of the Jönköping University Foundation
On May 1, Anders Danielsson took over as Chairman of the Jönköping University Foundation. He recently been Governor of Västra Götaland County and previous to that had the role of Director General of both the Swedish Security Service and the Swedish Migration Board.

Well-attended spring celebration at Walpurgis
On Walpurgis Night, Saturday 30 April, the traditional spring celebration at Jönköping University was finally held again. After a pandemic break for the past two years, this year there was a record attendance who got to listen to choir singing and spring speech in beautiful sunshine.

Sven Rydell is “Bridge-Builder” of the Year
On Saturday 30 April, this year's Jönköping Gala took place, where Jönköping University (JU) awarded the Bridge-Builder of the Year-award (årets Brobyggare) to Sven Rydell, Business Manager at Jönköping Municipality.
