Become a Volunteer at European Universities Championship in Rowing in Jönköping, 4-7 September 2019!

Volunteer to support the delivery of EUC Rowing 20019 can give you the opportunity to try something new, gain experience, develop skills, improve your career prospects, build confidence and meet new people.

During the championship you’ll act as an integral component of our operations team.

We are looking for team players who are passionate about service and always want to exceed our guests’ expectations! We are looking for someone who is polite, service-minded and reliable.

The tasks are varied and dependent on what you are interested in, previous experiences and language skills. The official language of the event and work is English.

Please read below about the various areas:

Accreditation

You will be working in the Accreditation Office (Campus Arena at Jönköping University) and be the first point of contact for student-athletes, coaches, media and VIP. One of the main tasks is to see that they have the correct accreditation which gives them access to specific areas around the city. You will also perform other related administrative duties.

Catering Management

You will be working in Campus Arena (Jönköping University) where all university teams and their staff eat their lunches and dinners. You will be tasked to crowd control the in and out flow of student-athletes and staff within the area and oversee the overall traffic in a timely manner.

Ceremonies & Protocol

You will be joining the team which performs all the ceremonies, including the opening, award and closing ceremonies. You must be active and be able to perform your tasks under time pressure.

Delegation Host

In our delegation host team, you are going to be helping with a lot of different tasks such as making sure that the participants are well taken care of during the event. You will be positioned in the accreditation center on arrival days to ensure that all support services are running smoothly. Second language skills are beneficial.

Media

As a media volunteer you will assist in operation of event and communication team. Duties include but are not limited to set up and demolition of media work spaces; registration of international and national press; general event information distribution; photo copying and distribution of information about the competition, general questions and processing of additional general administrative duties. Volunteers must follow defined protocol when interacting with student-athletes, coaches and their support staff. Requirements: Volunteers must be professional, courteous and pleasant. You must be able to handle pressure situations.

Operations Team

You are the motor of the championship by providing hand in any occurring task. All-can-do attitude is a must for this position.

Transportation & Driver

Being one of the drivers during this championship means you will pick up and drop off guests at Landvetter or Jönköping Airports, and between Campus Arena (canteen) and the rowing club house. You will also be tasked to great and escort the university teams from the airport to the accreditation center on their first day.
