Jönköping University – Department of Materials & Manufacturing is pleased to invite you to the 11th International Symposium on the Science and Processing of Cast Iron, SPCI-XI, which will be held between 4th and 7th of September 2017 in Jönköping, Sweden.

The conference will be organized under the umbrella of the CASTING INNOVATION CENTRE a collaboration between the Swedish Foundry Association, Swerea Swecast and Jönköping University.

The scope of the scientific meeting will be similar to the previously organized symposiums in this field, hosted by Detroit, USA (1964), Geneva, Switzerland (1974), Stockholm, Sweden (1984), Tokyo, Japan (1989), Nancy, France (1994), Birmingham, USA (1998), Barcelona, Spain (2002), Beijing, China (2006), Luxor, Egypt (2010) and Mar del Plata, Argentina (2014).

Researchers, producers and users of cast iron are welcome to gather and discuss the advances in the science and processing of cast iron.

The symposium will be held in Jönköping on the southern shores of Lake Vättern. The city has a population of 130,000 and a beautiful city center with cafés, restaurants, shopping, concert venues and gorgeous waterfront views. It’s also conveniently situated at equal distance between the Scandinavian country capitals Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen.
