JU students reach the finals of one of the world's largest start-up competitions
On October 15 it is time for the finals of international start-up competition BETAPITCH in Berlin. One of the finalists is the Swedish-German company NordicAdventours, a founded and owned by students from Jönköping International Business School.
Moritz Witter from Germany is a student at the master's programme Strategic Entrepreneurship at Jönköping International Business School, and will participate in the competition with his company NordicAdventours. He runs the company together with Pontus Davidsson, who is a student in the same programme.
In April, NordicAdventours won the national finals of BETAPITCH hosted by Science Park Jönköping, who also helped the students start their business. This weekend the Jönköping team will meet opponents from, among others, Seoul, Tirana, Shanghai and Istanbul in the final.
NordicAdventours wants to make it easier for adventurers and wilderness enthusiasts to find, compare, plan, and book nature experiences in the Nordic countries.
“It only takes a few minutes on Google to find the cheapest flights to Spain or to compare sushi restaurants in Tokyo. But there is a big difference if you want to find the best rafting in Norway or book a fishing instructor in the deepest forests of Finland. It is extremely time consuming and requires an inordinate amount of effort from the traveller. NordicAdventours wants to change that”, says Moritz Witter.
