Jönköping University receives increased funding for new summer courses

On 15 April, the Government presented the Spring Amendment Budget for 2021, which contains proposals for amendments relating to central government expenditure for the financial year 2021. Jönköping University is proposed strengthened research grants and, just like last year, an increase in funding for education of SEK 2.6 million for summer courses.

Earlier this year, Jönköping University (JU) received increased funding for, among other things, the Student Health Care, and validation of real competence for eligibility leading to a subject teacher degree (KPU). There will now be a further increase in funding for summer courses, and JU is also proposed strengthened funding for research and education at the research level.

“Last year's summer courses were well received and had many applicants. It is therefore valuable that we also receive strengthened grants this year to provide summer courses. It also seems like we will be given an increased research grant and we are investigating the extent and what it will mean for JU,” says Adam Gustafsson, Chief Financial Officer at Jönköping University.
